A little plea and maybe Rant before bedtime

I used this image in one of my other blogs but it still sticks with me. It’s way past my bedtime and I guess needed to digress. Life in general, has been extremely tough for me and especially my beautiful family. So being chosen to represent has been an enormous and really positive motivator to “crack on”Please click here to see who and what I am representing. For the past four nearly five years I have been unemployed due to an unfortunate injury. However instead of letting this injury be a hindrance I have chosen to look ahead and make something with my life, I have re-educated and I am hoping to get a grant to study further.

I have a dream to be able to climb on the Great Wall with Mark Pattenden and anyone else who wants to join us..
I have a dream to prove to my wife and kids that I am not a failure.
I have a dream that all these dreams will become a reality.

Three days into the New Year….

Time difference is definitely a pain in the ass. Especially trying to coordinate with the director of “The Great Wall Marathon “ in China. I am now officially panicking as I still have to try and get people, runners, travellers to enter..after all its my way of getting over..As you all know by now I receive a small commission towards my flights and accommodation. So any suggestions at all would be gratefully accepted. So far I have my paasport costs sorted, didn’t realise that my passport would be out of date four weeks before I’m supposed to be heading to China..

Yep definitely something to remember and keep me on track;)🙏 trying to keep as positive as possible 🙆 definitely not easy but I have met some really brilliant supportive friends from all over the world 🌍. To them I say slainté (cheers)

Remember that…where there’s an up there has to be a down ⬇ 😉 If you are interested in testing your mettle or just want an adventure…then this will be an adventure of a lifetime. Every time I think of this challenge it makes my heart beat fast and the excitement mounts. It’s a new year for trying new things Register and quote #777 in comments box.

Christmas is finished and New Year to come.

We all want this…All the essential things that will make the New Year a success. I’m hoping that mine will be as good as 2015.
Not long before the (take a look, maybe register) in China.
It’s New Year ‘s Eve and wow!! 2016 is just a few hours away well for some us, others are nearly there already..scary stuff. I went for my last run of 2015 and on this run,the longest since my injury.. I had time to reflect and even though the past few years have been a struggle it has all been for something special not quite sure what that is yet, but I’m optimistic that things will be for greater good.

The Great Wall Marathon my next goal and hopefully you all will join myself and Mark Pattenden for a journey to remember  There are different distances so if you are not interested in doing 20000 steps then there is a half marathon distance or even a 10km hence catering for everyone. This promotional video was shot recently depicting the passion and love of two people and the bond that they have even though their cultures are different he is Japanese and she is Chinese, showing the world that The Great Wall has power to bring people of all nationalities together.. Why not experience this for yourselves?? You don’t necessarily have to run on The Great Wall to experience it’s magic why not walk it..?! Ancient history under your feet and wall’s that could tell a tale if they could talk..

Help from Etchrock

When I was first approached to represent China and The Great Wall as first Western ambassador in 14 years of this amazing event. I was thrilled and so excited but didn’t realise the enormity of what I was getting myself into. This is my trial blog for all things China and The Great Wall Marathon. I have been sitting here for the last two or three hours maybe more deciding how my blog will look and so far so good..I have to say a big thank you to my awesome friend Simon who has proclaimed himself sensei Guru:) I have a ways to go yet but the basics are covered I think..?? It’ll  all come right eventually..

As a first blog about all things China and the Great Wall and I promise to try…to make it more for the non-runners and travellers 🙂
